What is that sound in my Stash?
That would be the sound of having forgotten to plan ahead, so that I could stitch some Mother’s Day things this year. Not that I am now unable to stitch such things, but I certainly won’t be able to locate patterns, cloth and floss, -and- do all the stitching/finishing, in time for Mother’s Day (14th May this year). (ok ok, I’ll be honest. Many years I am doing great if I remember to get & mail out cards with enough time to reach the Moms on time!)
I could just pick out some tiny projects, set aside my Rotation, and stitch something in order to give a tangible gift. But I think all my assorted Moms are worth more than that- they deserve to have beautiful things that they would actually WANT to display. Which means, of course, Stash Enhancement. You won’t see any WIP posted for Mother’s Day Stitching here; but when I start any such project I’ll be keeping progress photos and after the gift has been given, I’ll do a Project Summary. I wouldn’t want the surprise to be ruined by a Mom reading about the creation of it here. :) (as an aside to any of my Moms who might be reading this, don’t hold your breath, you might faint before I actually get around to tackling any of these!!)
Some possibilities of ambitious frame-able projects to stitch for a Mom:
Childhood Memories Sampler from Dragon Dreams
The Valley of Peace Thomas Kinkade
Grey Flowers Sampler by Keeping Traditions
All Things Bright & Beautiful by Long Dog Designs
Through a Mother’s Eyes by Paula Vaughan
Footprints by Teresa Wentzler
While you are debating whether to give your Mom an IOU on a needlework project, you can send her a Mother’s Day e-card through 123Greetings.
