I wanted to make a special gift for my brother’s wedding and decided on a guest book. My brother & his groomsmen (as well as our father) were all in kilts, so I thought that doing a Scottish-themed book would be best. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any tutorial photos (I was in a bit of a rush to get it done heehee) but at least I remembered to take a photo before I gave it to them!
I used some embellished taffeta to cover a book (with a layer of cotton quilt batting underneath to pad it) I then attached a strip of our clan tartan to the book and wrapped another layer of taffeta on top of that. I wanted to add their names & the date to the book and ended up using a “blessing ribbon” (that’s the white ribbon on top of the tartan) to do so. I also added a kilt pin with our family crest on it to add to the Scottish feel.
Here’s the happy couple, complete with the kilt, handmade by my mom :-)

How beautiful your new SIL (Chloe) and DIL (Noreen)is in the beautiful dress. Am I mistaken or is the dress and the album cover made from similar material? I know you had a lovely day with such a handsome couple. The kilt was a nice idea, I hope the weather did not dampen the day. Give them all my good wishes for a wonderful life together.

What a beautiful and creative family. I can feel the love thru cyber space. I so love reading your newsletters Noreen, inviting us in to meet your loved ones and at the same time enjoying all the wonderful creations that seem to flow from you and yours which for you is as natural as breathing. Thank you for being.

I enjoyed seeing the wedding picture. What fun you’ve all had hand crafting so much for the wedding. My daughter made her wedding dress and the one for her bridesmaid…while she was studying for final exams at college and preparing for graduation. But she did a lovely job…as you all have
