Update for SBQ- Picture Day
After seeing everyone’s lovely photos of their stitching retreats, and the backsides of their projects, I decided to succumb to peer pressure ;)
I’ve picked the neatest back I have on hand, out of vanity. I can assure you that there are some of my backs which have threads carried across long acres of cloth, or bits of snarled floss, and there are even a few rare knots.

Now that’s out of the way, I’ll show you “my” spot on the sofa. This is where I often stitch, though sometimes I stitch in bed or while downstairs watching movies. I have attempted stitching outdoors, but either it has been too bright or too breezy, or the children have been playing with water & dirt (which I could imagine getting on my needlework and that is rather traumatizing to think about!) So, my stitching corner. The roses are from the flowerbed along my driveway. I don’t particularly want to sit on my driveway, so I cut some to have indoors and enjoy. One of our many bookshelves… this one contains books by authors whose last names begin with “A”, a tin pail stuffed full of bookmarks, some of the kids’ books, some knick-knacks, and a set of National Geographic CDs. Oh, the cloth on my fancy filing-cabinet normally doesn’t live there (the kids again), but I thought I’d see if they will leave the flowers and such alone. Puppies, kittens, kids, really not a lot of difference between them. :)
Our yard is fairly pleasant and has a lot of flowers. Even though we have years of landscaping ideas we want to do to it, it is enjoyable as it is. Not very photogenic though. I did take a photo of a flower I can’t identify- I think it is in the ‘pea’ family. It is very pretty, and bushy. Maybe a meter tall or so. Do any of you know what this is?
.~Edit~ It appears to be a Perennial Sweet Pea. I had a “google search term inspiration” and found it!

You have quite a lovely corner :) No idea what the flowers are, though.
I refrained from showing my back out of mercy to the humankind

hehehehe. Eventually I’ll complete one of my big projects, and then I will horrify everyone by sharing the back. A shock to the system is good once in a while don’t you think? :D
Found the flower on Google after having an idea of searching for “perennial pea”. It’s a Sweet Pea, rather than a Garden Pea that one would eat.

It is pleasant. The kids like to steal the spot when I’m not sitting there. lol
