Tea Cozy

by Deb on April 6th, 2006

Do you love to sip tea while stitching? Do you prefer it to be piping toasty hot each time you pour a cup? You could use a tea cozy.

Kreinik has instructions for making a Crazy Quilt Tea Cozy with oodles of pretty embroidery stitches and embellishments.

The Crafter’s Attic has instructions for An Easy Tea Cozy. You could substitute a finished piece of cross stitch, crewel or other needlework for the plain cloth; or perhaps you are feeling ambitious and want to piece together your own crazy quilt.

Inspiration for crazy quilting: Dawn Smith has created a beautiful two-sided tea cozy with one side an Oriental theme and the other an Ocean theme.

I think a person could stitch some small yet lovely motifs, and use those little pieces as elements in a crazy quilt style tea cozy. A tea cozy would make a lovely gift as well, and your work would be proudly displayed every time a pot of tea were brewed.

thank you for the tea cozy patterns. They are just what I was looking for. I will start with the simpler one. Great website!
