My mom sent me the link to a great online article Threads Magazine has about making your own belts. Not only do they have easy instructions, but they also have different ways to wear a belt (and which type will flatter you the most).
Click here to read the full article.

My tutorial on making ribbon roses is one of my more popular posts - why not, it’s fun to add flowers to your projects :-)
Cyndi, from Layers Upon Layers found another great tutorial for making charming little roses out of rick-rack (that wavy woven ribbon or trim) Here’s the link to the post on her […]

I love browsing through “This Handmade Life” in etsy’s The Storque. There are wonderful profiles about people making a living with their own creations - very inspiring!
They’ve got a great article up about the history & evolution of quilting - go check it out :-)

How was your long weekend? Did you have a chance to relax outside, maybe have a bbq? Spend some time with friends or family (or even just curl up with a good book)?
Whatever you did, I hope you had a great one!
Ready to play in your studio again?
I thought it would be fun […]

I used to write Hankering For Yarn, (before my talented mom took it over :-) ) and wanted to share a tutorial I wrote for it last spring.
It’s a variation on my fabric fusion technique, but I’m using scraps of yarn & then embroidering the finished piece.
Here’s part one
and part two
Have fun :-)

Normally I try and not post about quilts too much, after all, we’ve got a wonderful quilt blogger - Mary Emma, over at Quilting & Patchwork, but I had to share this with you all:
That photo is of the “Quilt of Belonging”, a massive tapestry measuring 120 feet long and 10 feet high! It […]

I stumbled across this website today and wanted to share it with all of you; “Operation Kid Comfort“.
It’s a volunteer-run program making quilts for small children who’s parents have been posted overseas. There are some great photos & stories on their website about the children who have been comforted by having a small quilt […]
