easy holiday projects - embroidered gift card holder

I know some people think that gift cards are “cheating”, but I actually like getting them :-)  If you want to make your gift card presents a little more personalized, how about making a little embroidered stocking to tuck the card into?

I cut out the outline of a stocking from white glitter felt (the stiffer […]

part 2: mini Hallwe’en bag tutorial

Okay, so it’s taken me a day longer to post part two of the mini embroidered Hallwe’en bag :-)

an oldie but a goodie

I used to write Hankering For Yarn, (before my talented mom took it over :-) ) and wanted to share a tutorial I wrote for it last spring.
It’s a variation on my fabric fusion technique, but I’m using scraps of yarn & then embroidering the finished piece.

 Here’s part one
and part two

Have fun :-)

butterfly embroidery patterns

I’ve been mooching around the web to find butterflies to embroider on something…
What am I embroidering it on?
You’ll have to stay posted for that :-)
I found some lovely designs out there, both for hand & machine embroidery:

Sarah Bradberry designed this one.
“Embroidery Designs” has a beautiful multi-colored butterfly for embroidery machines.
4-Hobby offers a simple, graphic butterfly […]
