heart-felt cards

These are one of my favorite Valentine’s day projects (it’s actually one of the classes I teach)  These cards are made from different colors of felt & embroidered with simple running stitches.  Pinking shears add a nice detail to the edges - but don’t worry if you don’t have a pair!  I use pre-folded blank […]

links for hand-embroidery

I thought it would be fun to post a great site for hand-work & embroidery :-)

Nordic Needle carries an amazing variety of supplies & tools for handwork. I believe they have something like 19,000 different products? Definitely worth exploring!

I’m back :-)  I took a day off blogging to celebrate my birthday, but have brought some goodies back with me to share with you all!

Have you checked out Joggles yet?  They carry all sorts of yummy mixed-media art supplies… like fabric,  gorgeous threads, yarns & flosses.  They even run online classes.

embroidered journals

Yesterday I posted about the fantastic series Noreen has been running at Hankering for Yarn about making your own journals.
I’ve made many covered journals & notebooks over the years and wanted to share two of my in-progress books:

This is a piece of silk paper, machine embroidered using metallic thread.  I then hand-embroidered the center of […]
