Stitching Tools - tweezers
So the other evening I finally had some time to sit and stitch and gathered my things to work on TW’s Egyptian Sampler. I think I spent nearly half an hour working on one tiny motif, only to discover half-way through it that I’d gotten the entire thing one stitch too far to the left. …
I’m not a fan of frogging, and will leave minor mistakes if it won’t drive me nuts, but I seem not to be able to leave them with this piece. The precision of the patterns and motifs in the border demands them to be placed Just So. And having just one motif a stitch off would be painfully obvious in the finished piece.
It was such a small area, that I decided to snip the threads and pull them, rather than trying to unstitch it with a long pin. I’m going to be adding some tweezers to my little stitching bag to make this an easier process next time. I have hopes of not making more mistakes like this on Egyptian Sampler, but actually getting to the end without having to do more frogging is highly unlikely.
With any fortune, I’ll be able to work on it today and have some progress photos for you all later in the weekend!

Thanks for mentioning, I just remembered that I *forgot* to buy this tool on my last visit to the LNS. LOL.
I don’t know which one you’re using, that which was shown to me was a kind of long, crooked needle-like thing with a ball at the bottom. There at the bottom you cut the thread after pulling it. Very handy.
Btw, restitching (or pulling threads) is a lot easier on evenweave than on Aida. Dunno if you noticed.

I have a seam-ripper for regular sewing, which might work for cross stitch but I’d be afraid it would slip and I’d cut too many threads. I just snip with my tiny scissors, and pull the floss bits out. I think it would be easier to use the tweezer to pull them (the sort you use on eyebrows). Especially on those hardanger kloster blocks!
