Shepherd’s Retreat - A Spooky Weekend
I have been meaning to visit the Shepherd’s Bush website for some time now, and this morning I finally did it. The first thing I noticed was that they’re having a stitching retreat/workshop at the end of September. I can’t think of a way to justify attending it, but perhaps one of you will be going and can share with the rest of us how lovely it was! I also spent some time looking at the visual tour of their store- all I can say is that this is exactly how I envision needlework shops. Well, that and the insane part of me secretly wants to have such a shop.
If you are feeling a bit hungry, you may or may not want to click on the recipes link. I think several of them sound delicious and if I ever try one I’ll be sure to share how it turns out!
I’ve spied several designs that look like something I would have fun stitching. The ‘Gatherers’ set of kits is one- the patterns remind me of the Sunbonnet Sue quilts. I don’t have any experience ordering product from them (obviously) but I have seen that a lot of stitchers have Shepherd’s Bush patterns in their stash. If there are any negatives I would appreciate hearing about them, so I can update my review.

My mom made a really cool calendar quilt with Sunbonnet Sues. I love the miniature applique Sue blocks best, though I’ve seen some pretty embroidery and redwork Sues.
