SBQ- kit floss

by Deb on May 11th, 2006

Today’s SBQ is:

When you stitch from a kit and use the supplied floss do you have
leftovers? If so, how much and what do you do with them? If not, do
you usually have just enough or do you have to dig into your stash to
finish?

Happy Stitching!

So far I’ve used the supplied floss, and usually there aren’t large amounts of leftovers. There might be enough for a few flowers or such to work some embroidery on tea towels. I’ve only run out of colors on one kit, and just used bits of other floss from the kit to fill in. Trying to match unknown kit floss to DMC colors seems like potential disaster. There are a lot of DMC shades that I really can’t see much difference between, but a large block of color all stitched up would be noticeable in color shifting. At least, that’s my theory.

I save the leftover kit floss with the idea I might stitch some tea towels or other small project at some point in the future, but realistically if I do that, I’m more likely to use known DMC floss from my stash.
