Tangled Thread - Tips, Trick and Tutorials in Sewing & Stitching

Rare Solar Eclipse

by Deb on March 29th, 2006

You really did read that right, and you really are still at Tangled Thread. Adelle from Daily Jots has a delightful post about the solar eclipse that took place in the wee hours of this morning. If you weren’t fortunate enough to view it, either in person or live online, she has kindly provided readers with a link to a site that has a recorded broadcast of the eclipse.

Earth and Sun and Moon talk reminds me to remind all of you that it is time to be thinking of choosing and starting Autumn and Winter projects (if you haven’t already).

Nancy Spruance has a free autumn leaves border if you just need to add a touch of nature to your decor.

Dragon Dreams has an entire set of free mythical Christmas ornaments.

Lavendar & Lace also has a series of free Christmas designs, mainly angels.

If you’re looking for something not so traditional, Daystar Designs has The Twelve Drums of Christmas Southwestern ornament kits ($12.95 per set of two, plus S&H). These are quite darling. Also offered is the Silent Night leaflet which has designs for a stocking, a sampler, and ideas for other projects.

I have added so many projects to my “to do” and “wish” lists while browsing for holiday stitching ideas that I will never finish them all in time. May your lists grow abundantly also!

The eclipse started around noon here and it became just a bit darker, like a cloud passing and nothing more. Couldn’t look at the sun itself without special glasses.

My wish list is quite small, but my “to do” list…heh. Like a dragon sitting on a huge heap of charts in her dungeon. :P

My stash isn’t so large yet that I can call it a dragon hoard. But some day! My to-do list is slowly being converted into “kitted and waiting”. I managed to spend money on groceries instead of floss the other day though, so the stash grows more slowly than I wish. hehehe
