Needlecase day!

by Deb on May 4th, 2006

Yesterday I did not accomplish much on my rose pillowcases. Perhaps in part because I knew this packet of delight was waiting for me:

Doesn’t that silk floss just look delicious? I am excited to try stitching with it. I’ve stitched with silk single-ply thread, but never silk floss. And underneath the flosses and beads? .oOLinenOo. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it! My only real fear (besides messing up kloster blocks and ruining the whole thing) is that I will love linen more than evenweave, and my needlework will become suddenly more expensive.

The pic definitely makes one start sharping their claws *g*

I’ve worked with such kind of floss. Don’t know if it is “silk” really, but here it’s full of it. There are many turkish supply stores with all kinds of beads, metallics, small thingies, etc (I think I mentioned before). So it might be silk. Middle-east “community” shops are a heaven for such things and here we have plenty of the heaven (in both sense) :)

I have to see how much the postage will cost *your way*, if we’re talking about a medium-sized packet.

I’ll post up my progress I made yesterday, sometime today. It’s fun enough to want to ignore my Rotation…

Postage can’t possibly be worse than it is going from my way to yours, lol. highway robbers, these postal services! not hoping too much though, seems to be difficult to get goods back & forth between some areas. :)
