Mouse Floss and the End of the World
Well, maybe not the end of the world. Last evening in a break from needlework, but still feeling crafty and creative, I wheedled an armful of assorted old computer bits from HB. I wanted to make a mobile/windchimes thing-a-ma-bob, and only use stuff I already had. I think I achieved a post-apocalyptic feel, but maybe not. What I did discover that is actually relevent to stitching, is that the cord attached to computer mice not only has pretty wires inside, but the IBM mouse I took apart had two strands of thread. It is two-ply and seems about the equivalent of 2 or 3 strands of the DMC 6-strand floss. And it is white. So you could in theory come up with a way to dye it. Handy to know that when the social order falls apart, we can still scrounge needlework supplies. LOL.
