Embroidery in Scrapbooking
Many of us are not just needleworkers, but also addicts of other crafty things. Needlework crosses over into a lot of these other crafts, and one of them is scrapbooking.
For those of you with embroidery machines, or sewing machines with special stitch options, adding a little bit of needlework to a sheet of paper is a snap. For those of us who would prefer to do the stitching by hand, or who don’t have such a machine, it does take more time. Finding great ideas is also more time-intensive, because so many of the layouts and projects use the machine stitching.
About.com has several projects for sewing on scrapbook pages at: Machine and Hand Stitching on Scrapbook pages. One project ‘Embroidered Titles for Scrapbooking’ is using stitching to accent a printed title. The project titled ‘A Stitch in Time’ also details hand-stitching techniques.
These look like some delightful ways to use up those leftover bits of orphaned kit floss.
