day two of the De-Stash challenge
So how are you all doing? Got the fabric shakes yet :-)
I’ve found some great ideas for “stash busting” projects out there:
- Got some spare ribbon? How about making a ribbon bracelet.
- Use covered button forms, fabric & embellishments to create earrings.
- Does your watch band look a little shabby? Try fabric!
- Check out this charming little bird brooch.
Now what if you’re trying to de-stash your yarn collection? Noreen from Hankering for Yarn has some fun & easy projects, perfect for using up those little pieces of yarn that you’re holding onto.
- Make a spool-knitted kittycat bookmark.
- Enchant a lucky child with this collection of finger puppets.
- It’s always the right time of year to give someone a Valentine - if it’s this spool-knitted one :-)
I hope you all feel inspired to go have fun with your stash now!

my little 10 year old niece designed a dress for me to make for her. When she presented the drawing to me at the top of it she wrote
SPRING DRESS #1 MADE YES OR NO
Then below this was the drawing. A little sundress that is red and white checkered. She wants the look to be like diamonds so I made it on the bias to give the diamond look to the little red and white squares.
I thought she looked in my fabric stash and picked this fabric and drew the dess accordingly. But it was at the bottom of the shelf with demin on top so she did not see it.
Anyhow the dress is almost complete and I will be posting a picture when I finally get my camera.
I hope she likes it. She should be at my house on friday for the final touches to be made to it.
