more textile tours

I knew I had heard about another tour company that specializes in textile tours!
Tactile Travel specializes in tours through Italy, especially for us fiber hounds :-)

Their website also has goodies like podcasts, links to fiber sites in Italy… even a few photos.
So, when can I go?

Which got me thinking - if there’s one company doing tours specifically for fiber artists, there’s got to be more, right?

That photo is of the “Quilt of Belonging”, a massive tapestry measuring 120 feet long and 10 feet high! It […]

inspiration from the fashion world

I was going through photos of the recent Haute Couture fashion shows in Paris for my other blog, Her Accessories, and noticed some amazing pieces of clothing.
Check out the embroidery on this jacket from designer Franck Sorbier:

Isn’t that spectacular?
This dress is also by Franck Sorbier:

I’m not sure if it’s beaded or embroidered… but I’d love […]

Mouse Floss and the End of the World

Well, maybe not the end of the world. Last evening in a break from needlework, but still feeling crafty and creative, I wheedled an armful of assorted old computer bits from HB. I wanted to make a mobile/windchimes thing-a-ma-bob, and only use stuff I already had. I think I achieved a post-apocalyptic […]
