If you have a few spare minutes, I’d highly recommend checking out Jude Hill’s blog, Spirit Cloth. She is a talented fiber artist who creates incredibly detailed, hand-embroidered work. Definitely a must-read!

Spoonflower is a new project that is bringing fabric printers and designers together - very exciting! It can be a challenge to market new designs for fabric prints and Spoonflower is making it a lot easier. They’re working to create small runs of custom printed fabric - but it’s just starting out.

The talented crew at Threadbanger have produced another video with a subject that’s close to my heart - recycling! In this video, they’ve hooked up with the designers of Compai to re-work a sweatshirt into something cute & hip.

My sister-in-law just sent me this inspiring website from Cosmoworlds - their winter 2008/2009 forecasts!
They’ve come up with four set of colors, as well as their picks for the hot fabrics too - seriously yummy!
“Construct”
“Preserve”
“Reflect”
and last but not least “Revive”.
I can definitely work with those colors - good inspiration for a grey day!

It’s amazing what can be created using sewing machine thread! Carol Shinn, a Colorado-based artist creates photo-realistic art works using thread painting. Thread painting is essentially using thread & your sewing machine to create a work of art, instead paints & brushes.
Go check out her website - and make sure you check out the gallery!

I just stumbled across Mary Yaeger’s moving embroidered & beaded pieces for the first time. She has made a spectacular series of “merit badges” to commemorate significant milestones in a woman’s life. There are pieces in there that made me laugh and others that made me teary-eyed.
Go check out her gallery! Just […]

I was going through photos of the recent Haute Couture fashion shows in Paris for my other blog, Her Accessories, and noticed some amazing pieces of clothing.
Check out the embroidery on this jacket from designer Franck Sorbier:
Isn’t that spectacular?
This dress is also by Franck Sorbier:
I’m not sure if it’s beaded or embroidered… but I’d love […]
