Blog of the Week - Il mondo di Ila Ricamina
I’ve decided to start a weekly feature- highlighting another needlecrafter’s blog each Friday. I thought it would be fun to wander about the internet finding other stitchers. Rather than be stingy, I’ll share them here with all of you.
This week’s blog, Il mondo di Ila Ricamina, is in Italian, which I do not speak, so, er, yeah! What I can say is that her photos of needlework are definitely inspiring. (Her chronicle of the Miribilia Easter Fairy is quite lovely) You will want your popup blocker in working order, unless you don’t mind popups. Altavista’s fraught-with-peril language translator turns her “about” blurb into this:
I call Ilaria and I have 27 years, one of my greater passions is to embroider to point cross by now, hobby that practical from ten years. Beyond to this it appeals to a lot to read to me, to go to the cinema and to cook. This wants to be angles all mine in which sharing my jobs and their realization, but also to speak about all the one which happens to me around… beh begun to read and good divertimento!!! : -)
Most of the ‘categories’ are easy to figure out, so you can take a peek through her past entries on topics from designers to works in progress and a bit of all sorts of other things. I know this is one blog I will enjoy returning to, even with the not-very-accurate Babelfish as my guide. :)

Was interesting to browse. Not exactly my type of graphics, but her color scheme is relaxing for the eyes. And she has good scans, too.
Thanks for sharing, I think it is a great idea to present stitchers’ blogs.

Thanks! I think it would be fun for stitchers to be able to go on a big holiday somewhere fun, and get to know each other and share stitching; but since that’s not really practical it seemed like the blogs were the next best thing. :)

Tammy: Being multi-lingual sure would help matters.. I did look for an indicator of an English counterpart, but didn’t find one. Babel Fish lets me get a vague idea of the text that goes with all those great project pictures!
